Start your kitesurfing adventure today! With over 15 years of experience in various water sports, the school is located on the best beach on the island with the best restaurant & surf bar in town. This Kite Surf School offers lessons and rental of many water sports. Sal is the main tourist destination in Cape Verde and especially famous for water sports. The island has world class conditions for kitesurf, windsurf and surf, from beginner to professional.
The best period to practice these sports starts at the end of October and goes on until the end of April, the other months are still good for beginners. All the spots are easily reachable by car.
BEGINNER’S CLASS (6 HOURS)
Kitesurfing beginner’s classes are organized into 3 lessons of 2 hours each. 1rst lesson on the beach: theoretic approach covering materials, location and winds followed by a practical lesson with a 2 mt Kite. Afterwards moving to the use of a medium-sized kite and introducing the use of a trapeze. At the end of this first lesson, you will be able to steer a real kite. 2nd lesson into the water: introducing and practice of body drag technique. At the end of this lesson, you’ll be able to get in and out the water alone. 3rd lesson into the water: an introduction to the use of the board, starting technique and improvement of the kite’s position.
COMPLETE CLASS (10 HOURS)
Kitesurfing complete class is organized into 5 lessons 2 hours each.
- 1st lesson on the beach: theoretic approach covering materials, location and winds followed by a practical lesson with a 2 mt Kite. Afterwards moving to the use of a medium-sized kite and introducing the use of a trapeze. At the end of this first lesson, you will be able to steer a real kite.
- 2nd lesson into the water: introducing and practice of body drag technique. At the end of this lesson, you’ll be able to get in and out the water alone.
- 3rd lesson into the water: an introduction to the use of the board, starting technique and improvement of the kite’s position.
- 4th lesson in the water: learning how to bowline, back and forth technique.
- 5th lesson in the water: improvement of bowline technique.
SPECIALISATION COURSE
This class is suitable for keen kitesurfers who want to improve and strengthen their bowline and point of sailing technique.
EXPERT COURSE
This class is perfect for people who want to specialize in jumps, rotations and tricks or who wish to face Ponta Preta’s famous waves.
